Electrostatics

How do I approach the problem. It is given mass of proton is larger than positron will it affect any calculations...

as the positrons have lighter mass their acceleration very large. They get very far very quickly. as they r far away their contribution to the electrostatic potential energy of the system is zero. so when we calculate the kinetic energy of the protons we don't consider the positrons as they have no contribution.

Is the final kinetic energy here equal to the initial potential energy?

They have asked about the kinetic energy after a long time.. So after a long time all of the charges r farther away from each other.. so their mutual potential energy becomes zero as it is converted into kinetic energy
