The Toughest Exams in the World

EXAMS ARE DIFFICULT FOR EVERYBODY

Yet some exams are more difficult than others- some take months and months of focused preparation, while others take years.

Here’s a small list of 5 of the most difficult exams in the world.

 

#5 IIT-JEE–  Now known as Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced (JEE-Advanced), the Indian Institutes of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) is an annual engineering college entrance examination in India. 

The exam is often ranked among the top ten toughest exams in the world- with a clearing rate as low as 1.95% 

#4 GAOKAO The National Higher Education Entrance Examination (also translated as National Matriculation Examination or National College Entrance Examination or “NCEE”), commonly known as Gaokao, is usually taken by high school students in China who wish to pursue higher studies.

Ranked as the eighth most difficult exam in the world, this exam spans over 9 hours, across two days and understandably, is one of the leading cause of anxiety and stress amidst young students in China.

#3 MENSA– Mensa is the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world. It’s IQ Test, required for membership, is ranked as the most difficult IQ test in the world. Almost every country in the world has its own Mensa.

Unlike most exams conducted all over the world- Mensa does not have an age requirement for members and its youngest members- Christina Brown and Adam Kirby, both joined Mensa at age 2. 

#2 GATEThe Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a joint venture between The Indian Institute of Science and the 7 IITs (Indian Institute of Technology).

To make it into the IITs, candidates need a percentile higher than 99. The exam is engineered to test students on engineering and the sciences.

#1 CFAThe Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program is a professional credential offered internationally by the American-based CFA Institute to investment and financial professionals.

It is ranked as the most difficult exam in the world.
